2008 - 2010: Austria - Learn to Ski (badly)
Brenda and I left it very late in life to get out on the mountains to learn to ski. Having participated in various sporting activities throughout my life, much more so in my youth, I expected to be good at this. Brenda was the reverse. She did not play sports and expected to find it next to impossible. Well that's not how it worked out. She was much better than I was but this did not take away from the great fun we both had.
'Snow Plough' , 'Snow Plough' just never worked for me. So, I built up speed, which was great but I had to improvise when it came to stopping. I developed the nose dive technique which worked well most of the time until I cracked a rib. Back to the training school and the 'Snow Plough'
